This Intellectual Property Policy explains how Maison Écho protects its own brand, creative work, and formulations, and clarifies our position on the designer fragrances we reference for comparison.

In this policy, "Maison Écho" refers to Maison Echo Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17280708, whose registered office is at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ.

Maison Écho formulates fragrances designed to evoke the scent profile of established designer perfumes, at a different price point. A scent, as such, is not something the law allows any single brand to own outright: recreating how something smells is not, by itself, an infringement of another brand's rights.

Where we refer to another brand by name to describe a scent profile, we do so under the recognised legal principle of comparative advertising, in accordance with the Trade Marks Act 1994 and the Business Protection from Misleading Marketing Regulations 2008, which permits honest, non-misleading reference to a competitor for the purpose of informing the customer, provided it does not suggest affiliation, endorsement, or sponsorship, and does not take unfair advantage of that brand's reputation.

We do not manufacture, sell, or repackage any other brand's actual fragrance. Any designer or brand name referenced on this site is used solely to describe a comparable scent profile and remains, in every respect, the property of its own owner.

Maison Écho is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the designer brands referenced on this site.

Separately from any comparison we draw to another brand's scent, Maison Écho owns original intellectual property in its own right, including: the MAISON ÉCHO name and crest; the CIPHER.SYS designation and VAULT mechanics; our own product names and formula codes; our own specific fragrance formulations, as independently developed to achieve our own scent profiles; website design, graphics, and editorial copy; photography, film, and campaign material; and packaging and label design.

Accessing this website, or purchasing a Maison Écho product, does not transfer ownership of any of the above to you, and does not grant any licence to reproduce, reuse, or commercially exploit it.

Our specific formulations, once developed, are proprietary to Maison Écho, independently of the designer scent that may have inspired the brief.

Where we work with a perfumer, laboratory, bottler, printer, or other supplier, providing them with a formulation, artwork, or production file for the purpose of producing our stock does not grant that supplier any right to sell those files, reproduce our formulations for another customer, or retain them for any use outside their authorised work for Maison Écho.

Customers may use, wear, photograph, and share genuine Maison Écho products for personal, non-commercial purposes, including ordinary social-media use. This does not extend to commercial reproduction, resale of imagery, or use that suggests an official partnership with Maison Écho.

We take the counterfeiting of our own products seriously. If you believe you have found a counterfeit Maison Écho product, an unauthorised seller, or a website or social account falsely presenting itself as Maison Écho, contact us at support@maisonecho.co.uk with as much detail as you can safely provide: a link, seller name, platform, and photographs where possible.

Where appropriate, we may investigate and pursue available enforcement measures against confirmed infringement.

All designer and brand names referenced on this site for comparative purposes are trademarks of their respective owners. Nothing on this site grants any licence to use those trademarks, and nothing in this policy should be read as a claim of ownership over any brand, name, or formulation other than our own.
