CIPHER.SYS / LEGAL PROTOCOL / SS-26
EFFECTIVE DATE: 01 JUNE 2026 / REVISION V1.0
01 / SYSTEM PREAMBLE
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Maison Écho website and the purchase of products offered therein. By accessing this site or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms in their entirety. If you do not agree, you must cease use of this site immediately.
In these Terms, "Maison Écho" refers to Maison Echo Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17280708, whose registered office is at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ.
Maison Écho reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Continued use of the site following any such amendment constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The date of the most recent revision is noted at the foot of this page.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
02 / PROPRIETARY ASSETS & IP PROTOCOL
All content published on this site, including but not limited to fragrance formulations, editorial copy, visual identity, brand nomenclature, product names, the CIPHER.SYS designation, VAULT mechanics, and all associated creative and technical assets, is the exclusive intellectual property of Maison Écho and its licensors.
No content may be reproduced, distributed, transmitted, displayed, published, or broadcast without the prior written consent of Maison Écho. Unauthorised use constitutes an infringement of our intellectual property rights and may give rise to a claim for damages.
The trademark MAISON ÉCHO, together with the product names, formula designations, and related marks used across our fragrance releases, is the property of Maison Écho. Nothing on this site grants any licence to use our trademarks.
03 / NETWORK ACCESS PROTOCOLS
You agree to use this site only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of, this site by any third party.
You must not misuse this site by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to this site, the server on which this site is stored, or any server, computer, or database connected to this site.
Account credentials, Vault access codes, and session tokens are personal to you and must not be shared. Maison Écho reserves the right to terminate access immediately if misuse is suspected.
04 / ACQUISITION & SETTLEMENT PROTOCOL
All prices are displayed in GBP (£) or EUR (€) and are inclusive of any applicable VAT unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to change without notice prior to order confirmation. Shipping fees are applied at checkout and are non-refundable.
A £10 discount is applied automatically once your cargo manifest contains 3 or more eligible units. This offer is subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time.
Payment is processed via Shopify Payments or such other payment processor as Maison Écho may designate. By submitting an order you represent that you are authorised to use the designated payment method. All transactions are encrypted and processed in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.
A binding contract is formed only upon our written confirmation of your order. Maison Écho reserves the right to cancel any order at its sole discretion, including where a product is found to be mispriced or out of stock, with a full refund of any amounts paid.
05 / LIABILITY & RISK PROTOCOL
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Maison Écho and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) this site or any products purchased through it.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the site, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the product giving rise to the claim in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to liability.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
06 / STATUTORY CONSUMER RIGHTS & CANCELLATION PROTOCOL
Nothing in these Terms restricts, limits, or excludes any right you have as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, or any other consumer-protection legislation of England and Wales that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Where you buy as a consumer, you ordinarily have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving any reason, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. To exercise this right, notify us before the cancellation period expires using the details on our Contact page.
Certain goods are exempt from this cancellation right once unsealed by you after delivery, where they are sealed for health protection or hygiene purposes, under Schedule 3 to the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Fragrance is one such category: the practical process and conditions that apply to Maison Écho orders are set out in our Shipping & Returns policy.
If a product you receive is faulty, not as described, or unfit for purpose, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply in full regardless of any other provision of these Terms, including your rights to a repair, replacement, price reduction, or refund depending on how long you have owned the product.
07 / PRODUCT & PRICING ACCURACY PROTOCOL
Product images on this site are for illustrative purposes. Actual bottles, packaging, and labelling may vary slightly from images shown, including due to batch variation, screen calibration, and ongoing design refinements, and this does not, by itself, mean a product is faulty or misdescribed.
We take reasonable care to display prices accurately. If an obvious pricing error occurs (for example, a price displayed at a small fraction of its intended value due to a technical or clerical error) and we identify this before your order is dispatched, we will contact you to confirm whether you wish to proceed at the correct price. If we do not hear from you, or you would prefer not to proceed, we will cancel the order and refund any amount already paid in full.
08 / EVENTS OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL
We will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these Terms where that delay or failure results from events, circumstances, or causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to industrial action, extreme weather, fire, flood, pandemic, failure of public or private telecommunications networks, or failure of a supplier or courier.
Where such an event affects your order, we will contact you as soon as reasonably practicable and take reasonable steps to minimise the disruption. This does not affect your statutory rights, including your right to cancel an order that is significantly delayed.
09 / OTHER IMPORTANT TERMS
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation, for example as part of a sale or restructuring of our business, provided this does not reduce your rights as a consumer or the guarantees available to you under these Terms. You may only transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms to another person if we agree in writing.
These Terms are between you and Maison Écho. No other person shall have any right to enforce any of its terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 or otherwise.
If a court or competent authority finds any part of these Terms unlawful, the remaining provisions will continue to apply in full to the extent permitted by law.
If we do not insist immediately that you do anything you are required to do under these Terms, or if we delay in taking steps against you in respect of your breaking these Terms, that will not mean that you do not have to do those things, and it will not prevent us from taking steps against you at a later date.
10 / COMPLAINTS, CONTACT & YOUR DATA
If you have a complaint about these Terms, an order, or the site generally, please contact us using the details on our Contact page. We will aim to acknowledge your complaint promptly and investigate it fairly.
We handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, why, and the rights available to you.
