CIPHER.SYS / ACCESS PROTOCOL / SS-26
EFFECTIVE DATE: 05 SEPTEMBER 2026 / REVISION V1.0
01 / COMMITMENT PROTOCOL
Maison Écho is committed to making this site usable by as many people as reasonably possible, regardless of ability, device, or assistive technology. Accessibility is an ongoing engineering discipline for us, not a one-time feature: every new component we ship is reviewed against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) before release.
This statement describes what we have implemented, what we are still working on, and how to tell us if something isn't working for you.
02 / STANDARDS WE FOLLOW
Where reasonably practicable, we design and build this site to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the internationally recognised standard referenced by UK accessibility regulation and best practice for commercial websites.
We treat this as a continuous target rather than a box to tick once: new pages and components are checked against it before they ship, not audited only after the fact.
04 / MOTION & CINEMATIC CONTENT
This site uses cinematic transitions, scroll-driven animation, and glitch-style typographic effects as part of its visual identity. Every animation we build respects your operating system's reduced-motion preference: if you have this set, transitions and decorative motion are shortened or removed automatically, with no separate in-site setting required.
Where text is presented through a decorative reveal or glitch effect, the underlying content remains real, readable text on the page: the effect is a visual layer on top of it, not a replacement for it.
05 / COLOUR & CONTRAST
Maison Écho's visual identity uses a black, gold, and crimson palette. Body copy is set in off-white or light grey against our dark backgrounds, reserving gold and crimson accents for headings, borders, and interactive highlights, so that long passages of text are never presented in low-contrast colour.
We test text against the WCAG AA contrast threshold as part of our own review process and correct any instance found to fall short: a number of such fixes are already reflected in the current site.
06 / FORMS, MEDIA & THIRD-PARTY SYSTEMS
Checkout, account creation, the Vault access terminal, and our contact form use labelled fields and communicate errors without relying on colour alone.
Where video or audio content on this site conveys information essential to using it, we aim to make that information available in an accessible alternative form.
Parts of this site rely on third-party services, including our checkout and payment processor. We cannot guarantee the accessibility of systems we do not control, but we choose and configure our providers with accessibility in mind wherever practicable.
07 / LIMITATIONS, FEEDBACK & REVIEW
Maison Écho is a design-forward brand, and some pages use bespoke visual effects, including WebGL and canvas-rendered decorative elements, that are presentational only and marked as such for assistive technology. We are not aware of any effect on this site that blocks access to essential functionality, but if you find one, we want to know.
If you encounter an accessibility barrier anywhere on this site, contact us at support@maisonecho.co.uk. Tell us the page or feature involved, what happened, and (if you're comfortable sharing it) what device, browser, or assistive technology you were using. We will investigate and respond within a reasonable time.
This statement was last reviewed on 05 September 2026 and will be reviewed again as the site's features and content evolve.
